The collection includes books, photographs, oral histories, births, deaths, and marriages records, magazines, pamphlets, local newspapers, files, Council reports, ephemera; and anything relevant to the history of the Hinchinbrook Shire region.
Bequeathed to the Hinchinbrook Shire Library by local historian for the 31st Battalion Infantry Association, Capt. Bob Burla RFD, ED & Bars (RL), The Kennedy Regiment Library has become a major custodian of the documentary heritage of the 31st Battalion, The Kennedy Regiment.
